Reasons to visit the Walmer Township:
This is a magnificent cultural experience that will give you a firsthand look at the rich history and hospitality of the locals.
Townships are the communities where the majority of South Africa’s diverse population lives.
Despite various challenges, every visitor to South Africa’s townships will sense the vibrant spirit that permeates their homes and residents. This sense of community is commonly referred to as “Ubuntu.” The sprawling townships of Port Elizabeth are no exception.
We will visit the NGO “Masifunde” in the township. Here, we will experience the importance of education and what it means for the residents.
Jonas Schumacher and his 50 staff members support approximately 800 participants each year, including those who are self-employed.
After visiting Masifunde, we will walk through the township and interact with the locals. The history will be explained to you.
Pick-up at the hotel in Port Elizabeth at 10h30.
We will meet our local guide in the Walmer Location at Masifunde.
We will have a walk through the location meeting people.
Around 13h00 we will have lunch. Vegetarian will be available as well.
